DVLA (Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency) is the executive government agency of the Department for Transport (DfT) responsible for maintaining a database of vehicles for the entire United Kingdom, and a database of drivers in Great Britain. The agency issues driving licences, organises collection of road tax, and sells personalised registrations.

The DVLA is based in Swansea, Wales. The agency previously had 39 offices located around GB, but these were closed by end of 2013. The DVLA\'s work is now fully centralised in Swansea, with transactions completed remotely via post, phone or online.

The DVLA’s database of drivers holds details of some 43 million licence holders in the UK.
